Seabreacher SA`s

Seabreacher SA`s purpose is to bring the unique experience of underwater flight to waterways in South Africa by giving locals the opportunity to drive in the exciting, safe, and reliable submersible watercraft. The Seabreacher has been developed to push the limits of what people can do in the water: diving, jumping, rolling, porpoising, and other amazing aquabatic tricks, all within the safety and comfort of a dry, sealed cockpit. And if that wasn’t enough, SA is one of the few place`s in the world you can try it out.

Vaal Wine Route 11 July 2015 - 16 August 2015

This unique inland Wine Route has grown in popularity for over a decade now, to where it can now claim to be the best supported Wine Route in Gauteng, entertaining thousands of wine lovers over the grumpy dry winter months. The secret to its success, is that it is a well priced family winter outing, at a time when most Gautengers are starved of something fun and it won’t burn the wallet and it is in close proximity for all to enjoy. Just 45-minutes from Johannesburg, via good freeway access, one finds oneself at a dozen or more venues on and around the banks of the Vaal River, who have all joined together to showcase over 200 different wines between them. Each venue pairs with one or several different Wine Farms and then together they partner up by showcasing the best of the wines at only R20.00 for tastings of 8 wines or R40 for tastings of the venue’s whole range (some venues go up to 23 wines). What also spurs all the Venues on is that they have a competition between themselves as to which Venue showcases the Wine Route the best over those 6 weeks – so there is fierce competition between them and the customers are the winners at the end of the day. This year has a nice selection of interesting Wine Estates whose wines one cannot find in your local bottle store or supermarket, which makes it even more entertaining. These include:- House of Mandela, Ster Huis, Pandora's Box, Louis and Bella vino to name a few. All wines represented on the Route can be bought directly from the venues at cost plus 10%, be sure to use this opportunity to stock up for the winter!

Aero-Tow Gliding Experience, Parys

Arriving at this popular gliding club on either a Saturday or Sunday you’ll be able to immerse yourself in the growing sport of gliding. Upon arrival, meet up with some of the pilots and arrange to get yourself booked on the flying list. You will then be fully briefed on all the safety aspects of gliding and watch some of the other glider launches as you wait your turn. Then, it’s over to your pilot. Climbing into the front seat of this glider for the best views from the air, excitement mounts as you are towed down the airstrip for take-off. Once in the air, the towing line is released and you’re free! Feel the exhilaration of free flight as your pilot skilfully manoeuvres the glider to catch the thermals rising off the surrounding Vredefort Domes that help to keep you up in the air. The broad wingspan of the glider glints as the sunlight catches it. Admire the views of this magnificent heritage site unfolding beneath you as you soar gracefully above. Finally, your pilot brings you to a gentle glide back to the airfield after introducing you to one of the closest experiences of man flying unaided.

Dell Cheetah Centre (45.3 km)

The Dell Cheetah Centre was founded in 2009 by Pieter and Estelle Kemp as part of our ongoing comittment to cheetah conversation. We have been working with cheetahs since 2001 as part of the Savannah Cheetah Foundation. We started breeding cheetahs to stop organisations taking them from the wild, and so far we have successfully bred and hand-raised 20 cheetahs, of which 12 have been sold to other breeding programmes, both in South Africa, and internationally. We soon realised however that this is not enough and that the wild populations are still decreasing, so we are working on a reintroduction project where we plan to release captive bred cheetahs back into their natural habitats through a three phase programme. This is the first project of it's kind with cheetahs in the world, and is tremendously exciting for all involved.
